Funhouse Films was founded in 1990 to produce music video and animation projects. We have since produced dramatic films, multimedia illustrations, several music videos, and many short animations.


Tom Sephton photoTom Sephton is a filmmaker and animator with over twelve years of professional experience making films and music videos. The founding member of Funhouse Films, Tom works at all phases of a project from script to final soundtrack. He also freelances as a cinematographer, camera operator, and video editor. Tom's animation skills range from claymation to computers. He has created melodramas in clay, comedies of pixillated people, and computer animation for music videos, commercials, and corporate videos.

Scientific and technical media projects benefit from Tom's degree in biochemistry from UC Berkeley and six years experience working in research labs. Tom has created digital illustrations and animation for educational multimedia and technical illustrations for print and video.

Tom has a deep knowledge of the tools of modern media production with four years of recent work as a software engineer for an artificial intelligence company and ongoing research in new augmented reality technology. Tom also has eighteen years of professional experience as an audio engineer specializing in mixing live popular music from all over the world. Tom offers a wide range of skills and an unstoppable creative drive.

James Alex Haynes photo James Alex Haynes Jr. is an emerging filmmaker who began his career at the age of 19 starring in the stage play "Heaven Has Room For Many Stars". Performing the play for over two years, Mr. Haynes served as producer and actor for the sequel finding a taste for the entertainment industry.

Mr. Haynes subsequently wrote, produced, directed, and acted in a number of short plays for children. As the minister for the children's department at Beth Eden Baptist Church in Oakland, he developed a series of plays for children to perform.

Mr. Haynes founded J.A.C.H. Productions in 1985 and has been the guiding force and president since. Mr. Haynes has overseen his company's transformation from children's drama to video in addition to producing variety shows and children's shows for television. Mr. Haynes has produced and directed various videos for cable TV featuring many celebrities including the San Francisco 49ers, popular ministers, mayors, top rap artists and a comedy special for Sony Records starring Eddie Griffin.

Mr. Haynes joined Funhouse Films in 1998 to write, produce, and direct film and video starting with his directing role on the gospel rap video "Try the Real Rock".

Mr. Haynes attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA and Golden Gate University in San Francisco, CA. He graduated from Merritt College in Oakland with a degree in Real Estate. Mr. Haynes completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in film/cinema, June 1990 at Columbia College in Hollywood.


Tisha Jene photoTisha Jene has worked in film, video and music production since 1990 when she assisted in coordinating an M.C. Hammer music video in which she was also a featured performer. Through 1997, Tisha worked both behind the scenes at casting and on camera as a featured performer in a series of music videos for such artists as Master P, Toni Tony Tone, Dion Sanders, African Identity, and Messy Marv. Tisha was also a featured performer in music videos for 3rd Eye Blind, Dream Warriors, Malik, Suga-T, Rappin 4-Tay, and Beanie Man with Little Vicious. Tisha has worked as the assistant to music producer’s on both the East and West coast including Mike Mosely and Howie Tee who managed artists like Color Me Bad, Special Ed, and Chubb Rock.

Tisha Began her career as a video producer in 1995 with a documentary for the Huey P. Newton foundation. She went on to co-produce the music magazine show “Home Base Video Magazine” in which she also was a host. Tisha worked with kids to produce the bi-monthly show “Junior Video Critics”. Tisha now produces and co-hosts the weekly cable TV show “Reggae Central” which has been running since 1997.

Beginning her work with Funhouse Films in 1999, Tisha produced the gospel rap video “Try the Real Rock” which was featured in the Jamerican Film Festival in 2000. Expressing her talents both behind and in front of the camera, Tisha has produced and starred in two short films “The White Witch Project” and “Natural Grace” now in production. Tisha has a strong interest in bringing positive messages to children and in introducing audiences to cultures and lifestyles from around the world. She is pursuing both goals with video projects now in development at Funhouse Films. Tisha is also developing a feature film that expresses the struggles that women experience working in the entertainment industry.


Rich Hainey photoRich Haynie is a man with a need for speed. A video games ace and racing enthusiast in his spare time, Rich has a solid fifteen years of film and video production experience. He's worked as a cameraman, director and editor on several Funhouse film and music video projects since 1990. Rich has also worked extensively as a video cameraman, on-line editor, and live multi-camera director for major corporate clients. Rich earned his Bachelor's in Film & Television Production in Pennsylvania. He's been working steadily on both coasts since, building a reputation as a fast and creative editor in both videotape and non-linear formats. His quick eye, focused high energy style and excellent people skills make him sought after as a multi camera director. As a cameraman, Rich can be counted on to get the shot. Rich brings a thorough technical knowledge and artistic talent to Funhouse Films' video projects. He's also well prepared for the evolution to digital video technology working daily with computer editing and effects systems.
